Curriculum

The curriculum at Pavilion Christian School reflects our conviction that all knowledge finds its beginning and end in Jesus Christ. Founded on the truths of Scripture and shaped by the Reformed confessions, our approach to education is thoroughly covenantal: we teach children of believing parents to view every subject, every skill, and every sphere of life through the lens of God’s Word.

Our academic program spans Kindergarten through 12th grade and includes instruction in core areas such as Bible, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. As students mature, their studies broaden to include formal instruction in logic, literature, history, foreign languages, government, church history, and economics. These subjects are not presented in isolation, but as part of one unified truth: that Christ is Lord over all.

Throughout all grade levels, teachers call students to academic diligence, moral integrity, and spiritual attentiveness. The aim is not merely intellectual competence, but the formation of Christian character and a readiness to serve God in every calling—whether in the home, the church, the workplace, or the broader culture.

In addition to the traditional classroom disciplines, students engage in applied learning experiences that foster creativity, problem-solving, and stewardship. Our Applied Science instruction includes practical activities such as electrical work, carpentry, greenhouse management, maple tree tapping, hydroponic agriculture, baking, auto maintenance, lapidary (stone polishing), and skeet shooting. These experiences encourage students to work with their hands, appreciate the created world, and develop useful skills that connect learning with life.

Pavilion Christian School also fulfills the academic requirements of the State of Michigan, including instruction in the United States Constitution, the Michigan Constitution, and the structure of state and federal government. Yet our ultimate goal goes beyond compliance: it is to train young people to see the glory of God in all things, and to live in wholehearted service to Him.

We believe that “of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things” (Romans 11:36)—and our curriculum bears witness to that truth in every classroom, every subject, and every student.
